Season Tree
Every season presents its own unique weather. As a result, people enjoy different activities during each season. Depicting these activities and weather patterns with a season tree will help your children learn the differences between spring, summer, fall, and winter.
Activity Instructions
Cut a large tree trunk out of brown paper. If using construction paper, you may need to piece the tree trunk together to make it at least two feet high.
Next, cut out smaller branches. Hang the tree and branches on the wall with tape. With your little ones, explore the different weather patterns and activities of your current season. For example, if it is spring, talk about blooming flowers, afternoon rain showers, and all of the fun things they love to do outside.
Find pictures and items that represent the season and put them on "leaves" or just stick them on or around the tree branch. Pictures may be of items relating to the season, and activities they love to do during the season along with various weather events (snow, falling leaves, etc.),
Attach the items they have drawn and printed with tape. Arrange them at the top of the tree, as if they were all leaves.
