Social Success Role Play

To enable your tween or teen to deal with challenging social situations.

Activity Instructions:

Help your child identify a problematic social scenario she is presently facing, and role-play the situation with her. Have her give a detailed explanation of what's going on and let her assign the roles to play.

Go ahead and ham it up-having fun with the situation will allow your teen to take a step back and uncover a greater variety of possible solutions. Offer feedback and suggestions at the conclusion of the role-play and have your child choose one suggestion to implement.

Outcome:

This activity reinforces your teen's knowledge that she has family to support her through difficult times.
