Behavior Chart: Fish Theme
|
Teachers and Students who want to alter behaviors should consider using a behavioral chart such as the Fish Theme behavioral chart by KidzPoints. The idea behind a behavioral chart is to find out behaviors that students and children in the family need to adjust, pinpoint them, and then track them for alternate behavior. For example, if a student in a kindergarten class gets so enthused they constantly interrupt the other students, the teacher can make a deal. For every time the student is in a listening mode rather than a talking mode, the teacher can assign say 15 points for that positive behavior. It doesn't much matter what the behavior problem is providing that the student an the teacher agree to work on it, and the student gets rewarded for positive behavior. The chart is a weekly chart which can be used by parents and teachers to keep track of up to 10 different behaviors and features three colorful tropical fish photos and a large fish drawing. Best of all, they are virtually free to print, and as both parents and teachers can attest to, they do work. Particularly when a small treat is given for so many points earned in a week, and a collection of points over a few weeks can earn them a bigger prize such as a trip to an amusement park.
